I had a wonderful experience

I had a wonderful experience at Evita's the other evening. I started with the fried mozzarella which was delightful, and after tasting my friend's onion and potato soup, the soup of the day, I had to order one for myself. It was so hearty and tasty and reminded me of good home cooking. My entree was chicken parmagian which I thoroughly enjoyed! Overall, I was very pleased with my dining experience, and would recommend Evita's to others!

Evita's has been in business

Evita's has been in business in Jamaica for 25 years: 5 in Montego Bay and for the last 20 years, in Ocho Rios.
The restaurant is well appointed and overlooks Ocho Rios.
It has gained a great reputation for consistency in quality of food, service and value for money.
It has a VERY romantic setting and ambiance but it also caters to families w/ children, offering a Kiddies menu.
It is rated number 1 restaurant in Ocho Rios, on Tripadvisor.

It is too bad the reviewer

It is too bad the reviewer above did not read the Menu properly where it states that the Chicken Parmigiano (and all other meat or fish entrees), CAN be ordered w/ the starch of the day OR Spaghetti Pomodoro.
The same applies for the live entertainment which, at the time was only on Fri. & Sat. from 7.30 pm to 10.00 pm and Latin Night by a popular Latin DJ, starting at 10.00 pm on Saturdays.
About the staff following the party asking for a phone number, management should have been alerted as this is intolerable, by any standards!
Whatever can be improved, management is always more than happy to hear about.

I had high expectations for

I had high expectations for Evita's but the food was just okay. I ordered the soup of the day, Pepper Pot which was good and hearty followed by the Chicken Parmagian. That is typically my favorite Italian dish, but I was somewhat disappointed by the outcome. It just didn't taste all that great...too much mozzarella, not enough sauce, and I was surprised that it was served with a side of rice rather than pasta. The garlic bread was too overwhelming with garlic and left a lingering garlicy taste even hours after the meal.
I was also expecting to hear a live performance which was advertised for the night I dined but there was only music from a sound system.
The view is very nice and the service was good. I liked how the owner, Eva Myers, made her way to all the tables to check on how we were doing. Little things like that go a long way.
I'd still like to give Evita's the benefit of the doubt based on its reputation and maybe try another dish at another time, but my first impression really wasn't that great.
It didn't help that one of the staff followed me to my car to ask for my phone number when I was done with the meal. That was entirely inappropriate.

Anonymous? And, recommending

Anonymous? And, recommending another restaurant whose prices are double than Evita's?
Sounds 'fishy'.... especially since Evita's quality of food and service are constantly good.

Overpriced and over rated.

Overpriced and over rated. The view is wonderful.
For authentic Italian food try Toscanini housed in the same building as the Harmony Hall art gallery.
