On The Rocks

This delightful seaside restaurant is great for sunsets and seafood. Located at the West End of Negril, On The Rocks offers a variety of shrimp dishes such as coconut shrimp, garlic lobster, and steamed fish. Dine towards sunset for a beautiful view but take a sweater since it gets a little chilly.

I tried this restaurant due

I tried this restaurant due to the proximity to Rick's Cafe. My friend and I went to Rick's for drinks, but the food they served seemed a bit pricey since it is definitely a place where you will find a lot of tourists. We wanted to find a place where to locals go for good seafood. When driving into the restaurant, I was a little skeptical since there was no one there! There were a couple of people at the bar, but no one for dinner. We decided to take a look at the menu and there were so many different seafood dishes at great prices, we decided to stay.
The tables were overlooking the ocean, we came right when the sun was setting, it was so beautiful! The music they played (a mixture of 80s and well known reggae songs that you know all the words to) totally made this restaurant a place where you just want to hang out and enjoy the view.
I decided to get the coconut shrimp. When I placed my order, the waitress said it was a good choice and that it was one of her favorite dishes. The meal also came with chicken broth and a side order (I chose their pumpkin rice, but you could've gotten mashed potatoes, vegetables, etc.) Although it took a while for the food to come, the waitress checked up on us once in a while and was very attentive. My shrimp dish was absolutely delicious! The shrimp wasn't overcooked and was so flavorful with a hint of spice, which worked well with the plump pumpkin rice. I finished my dish and even ate the veggies that came with it! The food was so good and with the very affordable price in such a tourist filled area ($900 Jamaican or $11 US) you definitely need to check this place out! Definitely recommended!

I was pleasantly surprised by

I was pleasantly surprised by the meal I had at this restaurant. The shrimp with pasta in cream sauce was very tasty and fulfilling. My only complaint was that the soup (which comes with every meal) was over salted.
The music, a mixture of 70's, 80's, and 90's was great.
